Boston

 <ohne Worte>

The skyline of Boston... such a beautiful city!

 Ain't THAT beautiful???

Park Street - one of the main T-Line stations in Boston. Funny aspect aside: the T-Lines don't have names here... but colors! The red line, green line, blue line, orange line and the violet Comuter-Railway.

The park of Harvard University. One says, that its reputation only is valid in Europe. Within the States its reputation is rather not that good...

As I told you, everything here is really huge! That what I am holding in my hand is a big Dunkin' Donut Blueberry-Muffin!

This picture was taken from the place between Faneuil-Hall and Quincy-Market.

Our school, near Newton/Cambridge

Daisuke and Reinhard

Preparing to eat our lobster

And we really enjoyed this evening (although the beer was really, really bad... did I already mention this ;-) Reinhard, me, Kyoko, Hiroki (we were living in the same hostfamily) and Daisuke, that lived in the same host-family as Reinhard (spoken: Daiske and not to be confused with Taiski that means I love you in japanese!)

That was MY lobster: It had no name but his weight was over 1,5 pounds! Served with mussels and corn-sticks as well as with american beer (I cannot advise the latter)

Funny, the harmony of old and new buildings...

A very nice house in Beacon Hill

Going to P-Town by fast-boat takes you about 1,5 hours

On my first Sunday we planned a trip to P-Town (Provincetown in Cape Cod)

You can find there some of the most beautiful beaches all over the States!

And there were also so many beautiful houses, lots of flowers...

Reinhard already has visited Cape Cod with Daisuken - but nevertheless he enjoyed a clam-chowder with me!

And: it's the "gay-city" as you can see on this photo (flags)

Here from the boat on our departure... You can see the famous Milgrim Monument

This was my host-family: John and Joann Gallello - two really wonderful people. They made me have such a great time!

Both of them are still working and love animals...

Patches

... as you can see. May I present Patches, the house-host-cat to you? It's a lady and she is very cute! John caresses her all the time and Patches & me got friends very soon. But Patches misses her friend, Piwi, a little white dog that unfortunately died this June.

We spent the next weekend in New York - and our hotel was situated near Broadway on the 43rd street, not far away from the famous Victory Theater.

The Statue of Liberty - die Freiheitsstatue

And the proof: the roads are so long and so straight, you can't even see the end of the road!

The New York Stock Exchange is situated in the famous Wall-Street, not far away from Ground Zero....

Two common expressions in this business: bear...

...and a bull

Ground Zero, after almost one year

<no comment>

Everything is huge within the States... a stretched Limousine.

Times Square - it's such a huge, illuminated place!

And even in Rockport you can buy real, fresh austrian "Strudel" - incredible :-)

Rockport, a small famous village north of Boston, near Gloucester (both famous for its lobster and other seafood)

And that's why they call it "Rockport"...

Our very first live baseball game: the Red Sox vs. Toronto in Boston's Fenway-Hall.

Huh! An escalating discussion after a very strange decision by a referee (he gave a strike for Toronto altough it was ball out)

 The Red Sox in action

And the Red Sox can count on their two new fans

look at this nice little "Bierbauch" ;-) I'm sure Reinhard will hang me up by my feet when he reads this ;-)

Even the squirrels here are so big, bigger than those in Austria, and all that I saw grey-brown.

The famous Ducklings

On one evening I cooked a good austrian meal: Paprikasuppe, gratinierte Schinkenfleckerl and Bananenschnitte. And everyone was delighted...

"Auf in den Kampf mit den Schinkenfleckerl" :-) Bon Appetit!

The next evening just a little change of decoration and my japanese hostmates cooked a very delicious japanese mail.

We enjoyed! With Kirin-beer...

Goodbye to my schoolmate Massah (Japan)

Our last breakfast... with delicious coffee, pancakes, scrambled eggs and marple sirup

Only a few more hours...

Time to say goodbye to Kyoko and Hiroki

MISS YOU!
BUT WE WILL MEET AGAIN!
Either in Boston, or in Japan, or in Austria!
